Massachusetts becoming home to first Cookies cannabis dispensary on East Coast at site of Worcester’s New Dia –

The international cannabis brand Cookies is getting ready to open its first storefront on the East Coast, settling on the site of a Worcester dispensary.

The location at 118 Cambridge St. in Worcester opened earlier this year as the New Dia dispensary. Now, the site has undergone a complete renovation ahead of an opening scheduled for Saturday. The expansion means that Massachusetts consumers can now purchase iconic Cookies strains like Apples and Bananas, Cereal Milk and Gary Payton, as well as exclusive New England-themed clothing.

Cookies was founded in 2008 by Berner, a Bay Area rapper and entrepreneur whose full name is Gilbert Anthony Milam Jr., and his partner Jai “Jigga” Chang, a Bay Area breeder and cultivator. The brand has amassed a cult following among cannabis enthusiasts.

“I fell in love with Massachusetts a while back at one of my first shows out there. The fire marshal shut down my show because the crowd was smoking, and the venue immediately turned into a hotbox; the energy was so pure and so was the love for cannabis and the whole crowd was chanting {let us smoke},” Berner recalled in a statement.
